Development Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Development Manager is responsible for supporting NCADD-SFV’s fundraising, grant development, donor engagement, sponsorship cultivation, and revenue diversification initiatives. This position plays a key role in strengthening organizational sustainability and expanding philanthropic and community investment opportunities.

The Development Manager will collaborate with executive leadership, program teams, finance staff, community stakeholders, and the Board of Directors to advance the organization’s mission and strategic growth objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Fundraising & Development
  • Develop and implement annual fundraising strategies and initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for diversified revenue development
  • Assist with donor cultivation, stewardship, and retention efforts
  • Build relationships with foundations, sponsors, community partners, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate fundraising campaigns and donor outreach activities
  1. Grant Management
  • Research public and private funding opportunities
  • Prepare grant applications, narratives, supporting documents, and reports
  • Coordinate grant timelines and submission requirements
  • Collaborate with finance and program staff regarding budgets and outcomes reporting
  • Maintain grant tracking systems and compliance documentation
  1. Community Engagement
  • Represent the organization at networking and community events
  • Support development of marketing, impact, and outreach materials
  • Assist with public awareness and philanthropic engagement efforts
  • Strengthen organizational visibility within the community
  1. Board & Leadership Support
  • Support Board development and fundraising activities
  • Assist executive leadership with strategic development planning
  • Prepare fundraising and development reports for leadership and Board review
  • Help establish measurable fundraising and development performance indicators

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum three (3) years of nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, or grant management experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage confidential information professionally

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinking and initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional presentation and communication abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through

PREFERRED

  • Experience within behavioral health, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors

  • Experience with donor CRM platforms

  • Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements

  • Experience supporting executive leadership and Board fundraising efforts

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass DOJ and FBI background clearance.

  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation may be required.

  • Driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage.
